On a quest to travel around the world by public transport.

I’m currently in Vancouver, planning my route across North America. I need to reach Boston by November 17.

I left my job in Barcelona in July to begin this journey from Italy to China along the ancient Silk Road. No flights, only trains, buses, marshrutkas, subways, ferries, on foot, horseback, bicycle, hitchhiking and a few rentals.

I reached Xi’an, the western end of the Great Silk Road, in September and kept traveling east afterward. I continued through Korea and Japan and took my first flight from Tokyo to Vancouver in late October.

Travel has been a part of my life since I was very young. At 17, I lived in Canada for six months, where I met many Brazilian friends. The following year, I visited them all during a month-long trip across Brazil. At 19, I backpacked Malaysia. At 20, I joined a summer school on renewable energy in Istanbul with students from across Europe. At 21, I spent six months in Sweden for an exchange semester at Lund University. After completing my Bachelor’s, I moved first to Eindhoven and then to Stockholm for a double Master’s degree. After graduating, I relocated to Barcelona for work and lived there until last July when I set off on this trip.

Once I’m back in Europe, I plan to move to Amsterdam.
