BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST, PLEASE READ OUR PROFILE.

We are a couple living in Prague in a cozy tiny flat situated not far from the city center (10 mins by metro). We are rather interested in ‘of the beaten path” places than into well-known places in the city center , so we will more likely take you out to a tiny local pub with a local Czech beer or at least we will show you where to find them. Of course, we will show you how to get to Prague's "must-to-see places" as well and tell you which places are worth visiting and which aren't.

Honestly, there is a lot of requests se we must to be a little picky. Our plans sometimes change very quickly, so we can’t keep a calendar up to date. On the other hand, when we have already accepted your request, we are counting on you.

If we didn’t accept you, there could be some of these reasons:

1. – We are busy or sick: We can plan something bigger as a vacation, a friend’s visit, a busy weekend, a work project and we better decided not to host anybody – nothing personal.

2. – We have nothing in common with you: If your only hobbies are way out of ours as e.g. disco-partiing, gambling, monster trucks, machine guns or being drunk, we are open-minded to everything, but we will probably invite somebody else. We will greatly appreciate if you mention some little things you think we could have in common, don’t hesitate to mention it in your request.

3. - You are a copy-paste person: You don’t care about people. You just send the same request to everybody just to ensure being hosted. In this case, we will probably ignore your request. Make an effort and please write personal message.

4. - You have no references: Of course, it doesn’t automatically mean we won’t host you. Unfortunately, we have experienced, that many first-time couch surfers just had used this service when they had visited us, they mostly didn’t use it and never hosted anyone. We are still open to hosting first-time couch surfers, but then make a special effort when you will be writing a request and show us, you are interested in more than free accommodation.

5. - You haven’t hosted anybody: Even you don’t think so, everyone is able to host a guest. Couchsurfing is about sharing. You can have 50+ positive references from hosts, but we would rather prefer a traveler with 1 host and 1 guest reference.

6. - Your request is just for one night. We are not strict about that, but one night is not enought to make new friends.

7. - You didn’t read our profile: It is kind of cruel, but we have to filter requests a bit. Remember this isn’t Airbnb, so respect a host’s wish if he or she asks you to do that in the very first sentence. To proof you did so, please answer: “What is your favorite animal ...(and why a wolverine)” if you want to fit ;-)

Interests

Our hobbies vary a little bit and sometimes we give up some of them without any reason.
- Mark is into technology, electronics, 3D printing, microchip programming, and DIY stuff. He also participates and partially organizes urban games based on a 1920’ story background. He used to play the guitar in a rock band.
- Stepanka plays the guitar. She is into architecture, woodcraft, organizing nature-based volunteer events. She loves handicrafts in general.
- together we love to travel and meet locals. We love hiking and the countryside, sleeping outside without a tent. Taking pictures of Nature’s beauties. Exploring hidden places. Listening to the music of many genres. We dance Lindy hop a little bit. We used to take dance lessons. We don’t practice a lot, but we enjoy dancing.
