I'm a curious traveller, vagabond at heart, who loves to discover new countries and cities from the local perspective.

In my daily life I teach, play music and study- all of which are fulfilling and recreational activities as much as they provide an income.

I have spent a large portion of my youth hitchhiking through europe as a street musician, and spent longer periods in Germany, France and Spain. While I have settled down in my later years, I still love to get on the road and seek new adventures.

Besides music, I have a thing for theoretical stuff ranging from math over philosophy, psychology, sociology, and a lot of other ologies. I am a geek, and I devour knowledge with great appetite.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: Anything folky, from all over the world. Including but not limited to eastern european gypsy music, north african chant, tuvan throat singing and latin american grooves. Music can be an anthropological study as well. My all time favorite singer is the late Chavela Vargas. Lhasa De Sela is a close contender.

Movies: I like off beat weird stuff, like Taxidermia, Kin-Dza-Dza, Idioterne to name a few perls. But I don't mind your average blockbuster for the light entertainment.

Books: Again, the stranger the better. The third Policeman, VALIS, Naked Lunch and Baudolino are among my favorites.
