Overview
About Me
I live in Ravenwood, a 1924 Craftsman Bungalow with my two Boxer dogs, Josey & Jaden. I have been a practicing psychologist and college professor at Franklin College for 32 years. I live life to the fullest. I do my best to make every day count.
I don't have any references on this site yet because I don't know any other hosts and I have not had any guests stay at Ravenwood at this time.
Wanna be our first guest? :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in paying it forward and I try to give back to others when I can do so. When I was a college student and a young professional, I hitchhiked throughout Europe. I was lucky to find folks who gave me rides, opened up their homes and showed me kindness along my journey. Now, I want to open up my home to help others who may need that kindness shown to them. I also love to learn about other cultures and meet new people. I am openly gay, so if that is an issue, I will not feel comfortable with you in my home.
Interests
I have many interests. Obviously, counseling and teaching are how I make my living and I love my job. After hours, I spend time with my dogs, restoring my home, working in the garden, playing my piano , singing, reading a good book on the porch and traveling the world. I also love culture, concerts, musicals, the Indianapolis Colts games and exploring Indianapolis. If you want to go up to Indy, I am happy to take you up to the city and show you the sites and fun spots.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all kinds of music. I have Bose speakers piped in every room in my house. You might find quiet coffeehouse jazz to classical to alternative to country music playing throughout Ravenwood. I will play whatever genre of music you enjoy from my media closet. I enjoy an occasional movie and a few television shows. I read a variety of books from non-fiction historical novels, biographical reads and an occasional mystery.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, in terms of exciting experiences, I have hung out of a military helicopter over the mountains of Hawaii so close to the cliffs that I could shower under the waterfalls.
However, the most awesome thing that I have done is write and give the eulogy at each of my parent's funerals. It was the last gift that I could give to the most influential and unconditionally loving people in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe everyday is a new opportunity to learn along life's journey. I am open to share what the universe had taught me. I think it is important to experience life with an open mind and an open heart.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Ravenwood has two bedrooms, one full bath, living room, music room, dining/bar room, a big kitchen, huge front porch with a twin bed swing and a huge back yard with gardens and a hot tub. I sleep in one bedroom, so the guest room is open to visitors. I have a comfortable leather couch in the living room where a third person could crash and lots of floor space. If there are more than 3 of you in a pack, I can probably make it work with some creative placement! You are also welcome to use my laundry facilities in the basement.
