We are twin sisters doing a backpacking trip around the world. After lots of travels we decided that it was time for us to look beyond what we see...in Europe!

Amandine: I am a student in architecture in Geneva and choose to have a break before my last year. This travel is a great opportunity for me to get away from my books, learn from different cultures and discover places through another's eyes. Maybe I could also improve my drawing skills by sketching every single building I'll find!!!

I'm Marlène and I choose the psycho path! I just had my master degree and now that I've done it I want to take the time to live, leave my habits and enjoy the moment!

Most importantly we're curious and smiling girls and we can't wait to meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We join Couchsurfing because we wanted to travel in a different way. We prefer to discover a country through the people we meet there. It's for us the best way to go over clichés and understand a culture from the inside. Plus, it is nice to know that with couchsurfing we would be able to return the favour ;)

Music: we are part of the staff of a private festival that we organise every july in our region with friends. In the same spirit than couchsurfing, everyone participate for the food or the construction and everyone can share his music on stage! Besides we try to play some instruments ourselves: piano, drum for Amandine and guitar for Marlène.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: our taste in music are many and varied. To give you an idea here are some bands we listen at the moment: Mumford and sons, Muse, Angels and airwaves, The Doors,The weeknd, Bastille, Major Lazer, The Clash...there are too many!

Movies: Woody Allen and Tarntino's movies! We have also a little geek side and our cult films are: La cité de la Peur, Léon, The bridges of Madison County, The Piano, Babel and a lot more...

Books: We currently read A song of Ice and Fire series novels, The to do list, Millenium, Brave New World...and we are absolute fans of Harry Potter!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decide to leave family, boyfriend and friends for one year to travel around the world!!!

We can teach and cook french recipes and some basics of knitting! =)
And we would love to learn few steps in salsa!
