About Me

Hey everyone!

My name is Philippe.

I am a young Belgian-Italian, who loves to travel and am practically new on Couchsurfing!

About me:
I graduated from Law school a few years ago (first ULBrussels, then KULeuven) and I have been (and still am) a lawyer in Brussel for the last three years.

I recently lived the dream as I was backpacking through South America, but now I am back in my hometown.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As the intensity of my job didn't allow me to pursue my goals in life (being among people and discovering new cultures, traveling, learning a new language, etc.) I decided it was time to quit it and leave for South America. It was, without a doubt, one of the most wonderful experiences in my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Fred Uhlman, Reunion.
Camus, l'étranger.
Tolstoi, Anna Karenina
Dostoievski, The player
Orwell, 1984 and animal farm
And many others

Music:
In the past I was fond of rock. Led Zeppelin, from the first to the fourth album mainly. Then the first album of the Doors. King Crimson, Grateful Dead, and many others...

Now I am focusing on some other genres, going from free jazz, to electro/house and some more traditional Italian music (Rino Gaetano, Guccini, Lucio Battisti, Lucio Dalla, etc.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After having lived there for 4 months, I travelled through China in a long but beautiful trip, while discovering several types of delicious Chinese food, several different kinds of living (by going from Yunnan to Shanxi, through Sichuan), believe that the living standards, and cultures are not the same but they are all equally interesting.

The other amazing thing is what I did recently. Crossing thousands of km in South America.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my happiness! you won't see me as the nervous, angry, you-don't-want-to-spend-time-with guy!
We can talk about philosophy, politics, literature, football. My area of interests is really really really wide!

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, China
