Hello guys! My name is Gorkem, 22 years old and I am from Turkey! I study Illustration in my hometown. I make animations, comic books and illustrations. I speak fluently in English and i am learning Italian so far. I also am an animal lover. I have a dog myself and I love her with my heart! I am a caring, funny and helpful person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here because I want to experience travelling on the first hand. Rather than staying in a hotel or places like that, I prefer to experience the culture. Live as local people do, get to know them, and such!

Interests

I am a huge movie/tv show/video game addict. I can say I am a proper nerd. I love also reading and drawing comic books. I maybe not a sportsman, but I love swimming, running, hiking a lot. Although I have a strong connection with people, I prefer solo sports rather then teamplays. And ofcourse also, travelling!

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter books are infinite for me! I can read all over them for years! I also like many fantastic genre movies like; Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek etc. But not only the geeky movies but also classic ones too! I love playing video games and Last of Us, Portal 2, Tomb Raider, Heavy Rain etc. are on my favorite list! I also love music, as many people do. Maybe I dont follow up some specific band except maybe Metric, Oh Land, Placebo and such, but I listen to whatever is good to my ear. I am not picky!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I dont have very adventurous experiences, though I would like to have some; In my hometown, it never snows. So, it may sounds cheesy, but recently with friends, i went to skiing and it was the greatest experience of my life so far!

Teach, Learn, Share

In my hometown, there is an art workshop that I attend everyweek to practice life drawing. And there I also voluntarely teach people who wants to learn the basics of drawing. So, I like teaching! I love helping people sorting out the problem they have in their mind and learn by doing it. I also would like to learn the other cultures and languages, and teach inreturn!
