I am a freelance writer and editor. I love my work and I love traveling as a part of it. I spent my childhood in South Africa and late teenage years in Croatia. After that, I spent some time hopping between Africa and Europe. That is when the traveling bug bit me and I haven't been able to get rid of the urge to explore the Earth ever since. I live in a small village near the Adriatic coast of Croatia with my husband, our cocker spaniel, and one-eyed cat. We spend our leisure time fixing up our century-old house, taking walks to the beach, and exploring the area.

I love to travel and meet new people. I think this is a more authentic form of visiting places and making new friends, rather than staying in hotels and not really getting to know the culture and rhythm of a place.

Music: Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Curtis Mayfield, The Strokes, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beetles, and your lesser known bands and artists that you discover at bars, cafes and events. I love good music, no matter what the genre. I also enjoy opera, especially when it is a live performance. Movies: Australia, Limitless, Fight Club, Rebecca, Trainspotting, A Clockwork Orange, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, V for Vendetta... Books: I love these authors - Charles Bukowski, Langston Hughes, Charles Baudelaire, J.M. Coetzee, Dan Brown, Helen Fielding, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, John Steinbeck... The town we live in is quiet but full of surprises - a rich cultural history, beautiful views and amazing walks. We can share with you our beautiful home and surrounding attractions (Korčula, Dubrovnik, Mljet National Park - accessible by bus and ferry). We are also busy renovating our home (a 19th century villa) and exploring methods of energy efficiency and sustainable living, which we would love to share with others as well as gain new insights.
