Overview
About Me
I am Esther and I am half from Sevilla (Andalucía) and half from València, in Spain.
I have a degree in Primary and Special Education. I just came back to Seville after a year working and living abroad (in Ireland) and I'm thinking about what will my next adventure be!
I want to grow and develop myself in so many ways.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's a good idea to meet people while you travel and learn about different cultures.
I want to see life, meet people from all over the world, listen to them and learn from them and share what I think, what I feel, what I like and what I dislike. I want to learn as much as I can and enjoy my time in every place I visit.
Interests
I like art, reading, writing, travelling, feminism, politics, human rights, immigration issues.
I believe in education as a way to help children (and adults) to find their own way to happiness. As a teacher, I like to focus on children "with special needs" (we ALL have special needs so I don't really like that concept) and with children at risk of social exclusion.

Music, Movies, and Books
I would say The Maccabees, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Biffy Clyro and Mumford & Sons are my favourite bands. I also like to listen to songs in Spanish and Catalan, which is my first language.
Dead Poets Society is my all-time favourite movie.
My favourite book is "The Scale of Maps" by Belén Gopegui.
I like to read about feminism, philosophy and politics. I love poetry and essays. My favourite poets (if it's possible to have such a thing) are Adrienne Rich, Alice Walker, Alejandra Pizarnik and Maria-Mercè Marçal. My favourite writers are Julio Cortázar, J.D. Salinger and Belén Gopegui.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teacher training and volunteering in a compensatory education school with children "with special needs" and children at risk of social exclusion.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk for hours and pass my enthusiasm for life and education on to other people. I like heart-to-heart conversations and strong and meaningful connections.
I like people who put their hearts into what they do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my thoughts, my feelings, my learnings and my heart with people who are willing to do the same with me :)
