About Me
Hi Couchsurfing community!
My name is Elsa (... this is a 5 second break for you to take time to sing out loud LET IT GOOOOO!!!), I'm French and I'm a 20 year-old student in Communication (which in other countries than France is related to Business, but is in fact slightly different).
Although I don't have super-icy-powers (sorry) I still enjoy life and most of all I enjoy travelling.
When I was fifteen, I left my brain behind, jumped on a plane and landed across the world at the very western part of Canada to learn English. Now I'm doing the same but this time not that far: Germany, here I come!
Now that I subscribed to this website, I hope to do it the couchsurfing style!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm an adventurer and what is the best situation for adventurers in action? Meeting local people! Touring's fine, but to me the best way to experience the place you're at is to truly experience the everyday life of locals.
So obviously, living with them is the ultimate best idea!
Because trust me, French are not only about baguette and cheese and wine and the Eiffel Tower! We have a lot more to offer! Really.
Interests
As a language curious learner, meeting people from all around the world are moments I always cherish and enjoy as much as I can!
Basically, I love all activities that include many other people not only me, otherwise it is just boring, so I'm ready to try new stuff! I like playing volley-ball too, but I haven't practiced in a while so if we do play, please be nice with me!
Finally I love hiking and kayaking to discover new sceneries
Also I am a huge rugby-fan and I can talk a long time about it! But don't worry if you are not one, I will not bother you with this!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Overall I listen to all kinds of music; pop, rock, jazz reggae, sometimes rap, classical music, rock'n'roll, etc. Also if you're interested to discover French music, you can count on me!
Movies: action, fantastic, animated movies, comedies, etc...
Books: You could say I'm a sheep, for I follow the current trend of dystopian books (ie The Hunger Games and many other book series). I enjoy reading comedy books as well, and sometimes reading classic French authors (very important when you're French)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Definitely spend an 4-months Erasmus semester in a European country I never thought I would set a foot in: Finland! Undoubtedly the best experience I've ever had (until now, I'm hoping to do tons of other amazing things!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a little bit of Finnish. I'll admit it's not always useful, but since I love learning other languages (I can say "happy birthday" in 8 languages!) if you speak a language other that French/English/German/Spanish, I would love to hear it!
I would also love to learn how to play drums. That goal is part of my bucket-list.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you more about France than just clichés!
Being French does not mean that you automatically are the greatest cook, but obviously I will be glad to share some recipies!
I would love to share my life experience but above all listen to yours, for I know that these moments make us all wiser!
To make it short, I hope to give you the best of me so that we all have an amazing time!
