About Me

I am 21 y.o. student from Prague, currently studying at Dublin City University. My major is Politics and International relations, however I hate politics. I alwaysn wanted to be a journalist, till I recently acomplished this goal and didn't like it at all. So I am now finishing my degree and thinking what to do with my life.
Recently I worked as a project manager and producer at Czech television company and I really enjoyed yelling at people and spending hours on my phone getting everybody and everything ready. Just kidding, my work was usually repairing broken stuff and calling my boss that "we have a problem". And I was probably good at it, because they offered me a full time job.
I am a bit crazy, especially when I have my closest friends around me and know that they will save me in the worst case. But most of the time I am very responsible, because that is just the thing when you have younger sibling and you need to taky care of him...(crazy teenager he is now)
And btw I love Ireland!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I am a student and eventhough I work every summer since I was 15, czech salaries and foreign prices don't go together...So after airbnb I am looking for some cheaper way of travelling. Because travelling is just a part of my life. I love history and other cultures and religions and I am obsessed with taking pictures of the nature. (seriously, give me a camera and a nice spot and I can spent days there)

Interests

Reading, taking photos, listening to music, talking with interesting people, getting to know new places, history, beer, irish language (I know...nobody speaks with it, why the hell am I learning it? Just because it is a challenge and I love Ireland), good wine and whiskey, watching movies and series, singing, playing piano or guitar, rock climbing, hiking

Music, Movies, and Books

music: every genre is ok with me as long as it is not brass band. I like music and I play some instruments some I am trying to keep a broad perspective.
movies: Forest Gump, Inside out, Despicable me and Woody Allens' movies, James Bond movies, Johny English and many others
books: it will take hours to write down all the books I like, so just some authors for example: Paul Coelho, Ota Pavel, Naomi Novik, Oscar Wilde, Emile Zola, Franz Kafka.....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I became a children summer camp leader few years ago and I'm doing it ever since. It is the best thing in my life...to see happy kids faces, to play games with them, to teach them a bit about nature and simply do something for them in todays selfish world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that we all should learn something new every day of our life, and if we are lucky, we don't need book or teachers to do it for us. Live itself is enough.
That is why, eventhough, I tutor for several years, I am trying to give my kids broader view of todays world. I don't want them to memorise things but better to understand what is happening around and why.
Last year I tutored 11 y.o. girl. She was supposed to learn capital cities of some countries and to help her with that, I showed her pictures of these capital. When we got to Brasilia one of the first pictures was a slum. And she asked me what is it. So I told her about slums and people living on the strees and kids not being able to go to school. When she came to the class next week, she told me that she discussed it with her parents and they decided to pay for some humanitarian help for kids in slums.
