Hi, I'm Marie from Canada...and from Germany! I lived in Berlin till I was eleven, then moved to a small rural town in Ontario. Now that I've graduated with my B.A. ( in Canadian Politics and Psych) I have decided to visit Europe once more -solo. Although I am definitely planning on doing all the usual touristy stuff, like visiting all the big museums an famous sites ( Stonehenge! The Louvre! Every castle in Europe!) I would also like a more culturally immersive experience and to spend some time with nice people who know their way 'round town and want to rediscover their hometown with me :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I think this is a wonderful way to meet new people and potentially make new friends and share experiences with them. Although I don't mind doing things independently once in a while, I think it would be a lot more fun to do things with others

Art - I love to sketch and paint

Food - I'm not a picky eater and like trying new foods!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once went to a sleepover party in an actual castle when I was 15. For real - a friend of a friend is the daughter of a Baron in Southern Bavaria, Germany, and I was invited to the house - which had towers, a drawbridge and a MOAT. Other than taking place in a 700 year old burg, it was a pretty typical evening though - popcorn and a movie, gossiping about boys, and trying on chain mail from the suits of armour.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know if I'm really qualified to teach anything officially, but I am game to take part and contribute my best in lots of classes and events - anything art related, sports and fitness, reading circles. Bring it on :)

I can offer you - riveting tales and anecdotes about living in rural Canada, pancake breakfast, or any kind of breakfast, will totally help with cleaning chores or getting groceries, walking your dog if you have one etc :)
