About Me

Husband, graphic designer, photographer, musician, surfer, and love Jesus. I'm very passionate about these things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, but I don't like being a tourist. Recently I had been frustrated with how difficult it is to travel and get to know the right locals, the ones with the local knowledge and wisdom, that know the do's and dont's, who can tell you where the non-touristy spots are. I also want to get to know new people when I travel, not just get a hotel and go from hotel to the famous places and back. Getting immersed in the culture is really big for me, and what better way to do that than to stay with a local and get to know the part of the culture that the tourism industry doesn't show you.

I also like the fact that I can help someone in need, I love being generous and hospitable.

Interests

Graphic design, photography, music and surfing.

I've recently started exploring more and camping. Costa Rica is such a beautiful land, with so much of it that goes unnoticed, that I decided I had to start getting to know it before I planned on getting to know the rest of the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: folk, indie, rock.

Movies: adventure, suspense... I usually google "top 10 underrated movies" and make a list. And end up loving them all.

Books: The Chronicles of Narnia (and pretty much any other C.S. Lewis book), John Piper's books, The Silmarillion, Far Side of the Mountain, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Married my wife.

Teach, Learn, Share

Travel and surfing go hand in hand. I'd love to host surfers to show them the spots they wouldn't normally discover. I'd also love for this to be done for me when I travel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a heck of a good time. Also, since my recent exploring, I've found beautiful places in my country that I didn't know existed. The kind of spots that are hidden and tourists know nothing about.

Surfing spots too.

Countries I’ve Visited

Haiti, Israel, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
