About Me

I am a lover of nature, travel and good conversation. I practice yoga and meditation to remind myself my existence. I want to be in tune with the universe and relax within the chaos I live in. I am studying English Language and Literature at Bogazici University. I live in İstanbul and share a flat with my friends. I was an ERASMUS student in at University of Kent in 2015. I spent January in Beirut volunteering. Lastly in 2017, I spent the summer travelling in Europe. I was doing workaway in Olías, Andalucia, Spain in a self-sustainable eco-house. Spent July travelling in Spain. Right after, I did summer school at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. in Fall 2019 I'll be a graduate student in Comparative Literature at Pennsylvania State University. Now a new adventure begins in a totally new continent across the ocean: the United States. So excited to meet new people and cultures!
I love reading since it's a way of exploring who I am. I try to practice writing as much as possible to express and understand myself and how I process what I experience. This helps me communicate with people in a deeper layer. I like writing letters to friends once in a while as well. It's a good way to make a token with love.

I swim regularly and try to run outdoors as much as the weather is favorable. I'd like to travel more and explore the world I live in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe that the history and culture leave their marks on people who become the part of the city they live in. I'd like to know their experiences of belonging to a city or a village or a little cabin in the woods. I'd like to know more about other cultures. Living with people in a cosy atmosphere for a couple of days is a good way to connect. Unfortunately, I cannot host people although I'd love to, because I live in a crowded house with my friends now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like all kinds of music but prefer rock to chill and have time for myself, electronic/psydance to go crazy!

Lit: English and Latin American literature mainly. I turned my focus to Turkish literature these days. I'm interested in the movements about ecological justice!

I like Modern European Art, all the crazy movements: expressionism, dadaism, absurdism.....
