We are a young couple (22 and 19) who moved to Melbourne this year to study! On the side of our studies, we both like to pursue personal ventures within the creative arts - Michael is a musician, and Amber is an artist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We will be travelling in America from the 20th November - 20th December (2015) and would like to rent out our bedroom during this time period.

The house is situated in Kew, which is a 20 minute tram ride ⁄ 6 kilometres from the city. This opportunity is suited to couples who would like to save money while travelling in and around Melbourne (while still wanting to stay in a convenient location!), or those who are seeking short-term accommodation.

Cost for this period will be $1,000 (AUD). It would best suit a couple ($500 per person). A bond of $200 will also be required upon arrival, and will be reimbursed at the end of your stay - bringing the total cost to $1,200 (AUD).

This comes down to only $125 per week (per person, not including bond) for full access to:

- a comfortable, spacious bedroom (double bed, desk)

- kitchen utilities (fridge⁄freezer, oven, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc.)

- bathroom facilities (shower, toilet and basin)

- washing machine and clothes line

- spacious backyard with porch and barbeque pit

- unlimited wifi internet

We share our house with 2 other young men. They are brothers (19 and 21), and also study at university here in Melbourne. They are very friendly! As you are sharing the house with them, all we ask is that you clean up after yourselves and respect the space - if you would like visitors, that's fine, but please ask one of the housemates first. You won't be required to pay extra for the electricity, gas or water that you consume - however, in turn we ask that you use these services responsibly and ethically.

The total cost ($1,200 AUD including bond) will be required in full before our departure. Although best suited for couples as mentioned, the room is available to you if you are alone and are willing to pay the full price of stay. Dates are not negotiable. All applicants will require a reference. We are honest, easy going people and hope you enjoy your stay. :)
