About Me

I'm an African earth child and traveled a bit through Canada, England and South America when I was 20. I have an (almost) unhealthy obsession with trees and forests and am always keen to learn more about them and spend as much time with them as possible. I've always had a dream to connect the soles of my feet with the Amazon rainforest and achieved it in 2015. I love meeting new people and have made beautiful connections with people of all different ages (from 4 to 80 years old and beyond), that I will hold in my heart forever! I won't turn down a night out, especially if there's live music involved, but anything else goes too. I'm always open to learning new things, especially things about countries that I've never been to and I love hearing people's stories. One day I hope to be a Waldorf teacher because I'd like to contribute towards a more sustainable world and I think I'd be able to do that through children, who I have absolutely no problem connecting with. I find everything funny and I can also be serious and deep if it's needed, but I avoid arguments like the plague...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm couch surfing at the moment because I want to meet people who I've never heard of before and see their countries/cities through their eyes. I have 3 main goals while traveling: To see as many different trees as possible, to visit as many Waldorf schools as I can and to reach out of my comfort zone and get to know people on my own, without everything being set up for me beforehand.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music has always been a huge part of my life and I like most genres, except the ones I don't like. I've been playing different instruments all my life and am currently playing drums with two of the loveliest long-haired boys back home in Durban. Always on the lookout for new bands to listen to and I'm more than willing to do a music swap! I love books, but am not a huge fan of headintheclouds type of romance stories. Anything else I'm ready to absorb, especially if it takes me on a journey. Documentaries are my favourite movies but I'm open to anything as long as it's not shitty.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Planted thousands of trees in Zambia with some of the best people from all over the world and planted trees in the almighty Amazon jungle.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yoga enables my body to function properly, so I'm always open to learning things about it and I can share some of the points that have been drilled into me. I can teach you how to play the drums and I've always loved dying things with colour, so if you have any advice on that we can definitely trade. I can teach you about Africa and her beautiful people and I'm always keen to learn about anything that you're passionate about as well! I'm headed to South America, so if you've been there or know anything about it, I will absorb every word that you share with me like a sponge!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll do my bit with keeping the house clean and the dishes washed. Always willing to cook up a meal (depending on the adventurous natures of the people I'm cooking for) and am not known for living in chaos, unless it's been my own space for more than a few months.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, England, Mozambique, New Zealand, Peru, Réunion, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe
