Overview
About Me
Hi!
My name is Lars Kristian and I'm originally from Sandefjord in Norway, but I currently live in the charming and beautiful city of Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling and I'm starting to like people too! Meeting locals is a great way to learn about a place and indulge in the local culture.
Sharing is caring and caring beats consuming!
Interests
I like various outdoor activities like mountain biking, running, swimming, hiking and skiing, but mostly I waste my time on the internet. I have also started drawing a bit, but nothing to impressive.
Beer/wine and board/card/games is always fun.
I am interested in history, philosophy and politics (from a safe emotional distance).
I also have an unhealthy obsession with professional cycling and I'm periodically addicted to strategy games.
Travelling and exploring goes without saying in a place like this, right?

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I feel all generes of music can be enjoyable in the right environment and I listen to different styles of music, but have a preference for folk-rock. Favourite band however is The Clash.
Spotify's "discover weekly" is a god-send.
Movies:
I love movies that are both serious and hilarious. In Bruges is probably my favourite. Open for recommendations.
Love a good documentary too.
Books:
I like to read, but can't possibly name a favourite. I read some fantasy, Sci-Fi, various other novels and I really enjoy philosophical novels, and non-fiction books on history and science.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once when I was in school I threw an empty bottle of soda behind my head and it flew halfway through the classroom, bounced off the floor, into the black-board and finally into the bin. It would possibly had made it to one of those compilation videos on YouTube if someone had filmed it.
I also helped making a functioning solar cooker from aquatic plants in Kenya.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can probably teach a bit of Norwegian and English too.
Wouldn't mind learning the basics of different languages and the basics of different instruments. Listening to people talk about something they are passionate about is lovely no matter the subject, so I'm open to learning about most things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook food that most likely won't kill you.
I'd make a decent addition to a pub quiz team and I can play two and a half songs on the harmonica.
