About Me

Hi everyone!! I´m 23 years old, I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and I'm passionate about travelling and learning about new cultures and sharing some valuable time with people from differents countries :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well... I always want to use this site (the idea is just amazing) but I never had an specific purpose until now!!!!
With some friends have the crazy idea to have a memorable and adventurous trip, and a few days ago We decided to travell from Montevideo to Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru and Chile.

I personally think that cultural and social interships are the only way to know something about places, to embrace the history behind every country and community, and specially to "feel" like you are not an stranger, you are more than a simple tourist. It is only through the eyes of a local person that you have the oportunity to understand how the city or culture works.

Interests

I love music, nature, all kind of sports (particularly extreme sports), travelling and meet different people, and of course.... I fall in love with Sociology every time! (and her cousing, anthropology :) ). As I said before, the important thing about any travel experience is to know more about places and local people.. and I adore to listen personal experiences from the best "Story tellers" that each city, community or town have.

Music, Movies, and Books

If you ask me about things that I like (talking about music, movies and books) it's come to many stuff to my mind, so I'm going to write about the last things that I listened, last movies that I saw (and enjoyed), and books that I'm reading right now or I read it recently.
In terms of music, I love Rock n'roll, Blues, Reggae, Soul, Jazz, but also like some pop and techno style. In my "playlist" you can find The Beatles, Sia Furler, Tracy Chapman, Jorge Drexler, ChocQuibTown, Natiruts, and many many others.
Talking about movies, I enjoy suspenseful and drama movies. One of the last that I saw was "snow piercer", a great movie with an interesting reflection about how our society works even in this day (social inequalities).
Finally, I'm reading "Rayuela" (Julio Cortázar) and 2 ethnographic studies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been a volunteer for EduAction (NGO) for 3 months in Peru, and then 6 more months in my own country, Uruguay. EduAction is an intercultural education project with non-formal learning methods, and people who work for it facilitate workshops for teenagers between 10 and 15 years old in public schools.
I Think this was one of the most important experiences in my life, because I had the oportunity to work with people from differents countries, to live and understand Peruvian culture , and I had the chance to work for a good cause trying to transform educational system in Latin America.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my whole experience of life, the places I have been, my professional, academic experiences, and all the things that I lived as a volunteer. :)
