Hey, I'm David :).

I'm 26 years of age, born in Tasmania and raised between Sydney and a small town on a small island off the coast of Fiji called Labasa.

Since May 2014, I've been travelling with a few brief intermissions in Sydney to refuel and refinance - haha. So far my wandering has taken me through: South Korea, Malaysia, India, Nepal, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, and Spain.

As I've travelled, the most memorable experiences always come from the people I meet along the way. There's something about connecting while travelling that's unique; trading tales, bouncing in and out of each other's lives that always feels special and memorable.

Where I'm at right now - I've actually just returned from a six-month backpacking trip through Asia and Europe, and I'm still buzzing. I met so many interesting people with weird and wonderful tales, and the generosity I received on the road was way beyond my expectations.

In an attempt to kind of pay-it-forward, and to hopefully continue to meet interesting people with weird and wonderful tales, I'd like to offer to show people around Sydney.

I've lived here my whole life and know it back to front. While it's fairly straightforward seeing the major sights (aka Sydney Harbour Bridge, Manly/Bondi beach, etc.) there's a lot of great spots travellers miss purely for lack of knowledge. I'd like to rectify that!

So, If you think you and I will get along, I'd love to have the chance to hang out - hit me up.

Books: American Gods, Thief of Time, big fan of longform journalism, Carl Sagan, Ratmond E. Feist, Isaac Asimov, Stephen King, Juan Santapau (check out his comic: The Secret Knots), and, as before, the list goes on...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Not to be 'that dude' but it's hard to reduce it down to one, here are the tops for me:

- Slept under the stars in the desert on the border of Pakistan - big one for me.
- Getting the courage to solo-travel that first time
- Watching the sunrise over the Annapurna mountains
- Got lost thirty metres underground in a cave system in Vietnam
- Watched a perfect sunset on Long Beach, Koh Lanta Island

If you're into food I can show some kick-ass spots that are hidden beyond the city-centre; if nature is your thing (it is mine) we can hit up some amazing trails up,in and around the Blue Mountains; and if you play an instrument I am always looking to jam :)

In terms of what I'll learn from you, I have no idea but I know I will. I'm pretty much interested in everything - shit, you could be into the aesthetics of cardboard packaging and I'd still find it fascinating that you find it fascinating lol.

I'll share most anything: food, music fast, opinions, ideas, conversation, shit even clothes (if you need em - haha).
