About Me
Hi there, my name is Kati and I'm Hungarian. I'm very friendly and talkative, but only after the initial awkwardness wears off. I love meeting like-minded people, it would be cool to meet fellow vegans wherever I go.
I'm rather new to travelling, but I do know that the best way to explore a city is through locals.
I can be rather shy, but when I connect with somebody then I'm less afraid to show my weird side :)
I'm not able to host anybody at the moment, but I'd be more than happy to meet like-minded people, and show them around in Budapest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think the best way to explore a new place is through locals. I'm not that interested in the most touristy places, those feel like the postcard version of cities and not authentic at all. The stories and history makes a place more interesting, and some of these can be only shared by locals. Couchsurfing also help to meet like-minded people, and make friends. I'm not hosting at the moment, but I love showing people around my city and sharing my favourite places.
Interests
I would say I have serious and less serious interests, and the former kinda defines who I am. I've been a feminist since ages and then this lead me to veganism and social justice issues in a broader term. I am very political, and I deeply care about human and animal rights issues, and about the environment.
About my less serious interests: I like creating stuff, the medium usually varies. But I'm into watercolors at the moment. I like live music and good beers, but I'm not really interested in partying or staying out all night anymore. I love cooking and discovering the cuisine of new places. I really enjoy spending time in nature, my absolute favorite is mushroom picking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first ever serious hitchhiking: from Riga to Warsaw alone. In the end I missed my bus :) Very stressful day, but now it's a fun story to tell.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how paint, how to sew a gym bag, or other crafty things. I also have some well-tested recipes :) I can share some crazy travelling stories as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories and long discussion. I'd love to cook food to give something back. And of course, some presents from Hungary.
