Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Merja, a 27-year old German girl, currently living in Tokyo.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me it offers the opportunity to get into contact with people from other parts of the world and exchange experiences as well as making new experiences together! :)
Interests
I'm really interested in learning more about different cultures! I lived in Hiroshima for a year working in a kindergarten and later traveled around Indonesia for 6 months. I had the chance to experience so many cool things that I cannot wait to travel again! Through Couchsurfing I want to meet new people and make friends :)
I love playing guitar (but I'm terrible at singing so think twice before suggesting to go to karaoke :D) and discovering new music!
Right now I'm trying to get back into doing Yoga again :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking from Hiroshima to Tokyo together with my roommate at the end of our voluntary social year in Japan (We had to wait for hours in the summer heat to get picked up, had a cute grandma insist on giving us money to buy lunch after driving us all the way to Osaka, got into a car crash, had to sleep in an really sketchy Internet cafe in Nagasaki, because there only were weird people offering us a ride at night... but also meeting so many cool and lovely people along the way! )
Traveling around Sumatra for 4 months and trying to teach basic English at a small school in Bukit Lawang
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can either cook or treat you to some delicious vegan food!
I also always carry around some sort of card games we could play
