About Me
Hi! My name is Èlia and I'm from Catalonia (Spain).
I love travelling and I’m looking forward to seeing the world and learning about other countries, cultures and languages.
Last year I got my Psychology’s degree by the University of Girona. My internship consisted in help children from 0 to 6 years old to achieve a better development.
I love the sea and being near it, I know a little bit how to sail but I want to improve it in the future and I like being near the nature too.
In general I’m good on sports but especially on basketball because I’ve been playing it since I was seven years old. One year ago I also was in a professional basketball team (Uni Girona) and we won the Spanish League. It was hard for me to combine both activities (the last year of the university and the basketball competition), but at the end I felt very proud of my effort.
What's more, on the last summer season I worked as a waiter to earn money because I wanted to travel to Central America (Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama). In September I went there and I worked like a volunteer helping children at school for one month, then I spend two months visiting these amazing countries. It was really an incredible experience!
Nowadays I want to discover myself a little bit more, and I think the experiences I could reach travelling by couchsurfing will probably be really useful for me. Also, I want to improve my English because it’ll allow me to have better options in the future.
I consider myself a positive, energetic and very sociable person. I’m trying to focus all my energy in the present moment because I know being mindful is better for me and for the people around me. I like to practise meditation and I’m trying to do it every day. I think I can get the positive part of all the different events and transmit it to the others.
Thanks for being interested on my profile!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Actually I'm trying to travel around the UK and enjoy my gap year meeting new people, learning the language and also combining it with some "workaway" projects.
I think that the experiences that couchsurfing could offer are perfect for save some money and also for meet new people and learn more about the place directly from the locals.
