Overview
About Me
Basically a calm pacifist who likes people, talking and sharing a good hearty laughter with them. I consider myself a "social chameleon", meaning I can go well with many different people and understand different opinions (a friend of mine called me a "boy of many faces"). My personal opinions are overall quite liberal and free-minded; however, not extreme in those ways (I always try to find balance in every aspect of being, so my mindset goes a lot by that). I go by the old saying "one's freedom ends where other's freedom begins".
Although I tend to be slightly shy sometimes, I love meeting new people and when I get through the initial moments of getting to know them, I get quite sociable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a plethora of global issues has been emerging in the past years and decades (and with others on the horizon), I consider it even more important that people all over the world should connect and work together to create a working, unified world, yet still maintain its cultural diversity. To achieve that we should make connections, share each other's experience and knowledge, learn about each other's cultures and create bonds between nations and its peoples. I'd also like to get to know new places and I can't imagine a better way of achieving that than through meeting the locals.
Would I ever happen to have some space for guests in my place, I would be happy to offer the same to the visitors of my "natural habitat", Bohemia. I'd also like to hangout with visitors of Prague, whether do they want to have a nice walk among Prague's nicest sights and places, chill down with a cup of tea, have a few beers and chat or get wasted af.
I also like people, but I recall already writing that.
Interests
I like to hang out with people (which can mean both sitting quietly with a cup of tea and spending the night in the pub or drinking outdoors) or read, usually accompanied by listening to some music. I do a little music as well, but none of it leaves my cellar's walls. I'm very into music festivals, I've been attending Brutal Assault for the last 6 years and I'm still loving it (although my true metalhead days are history, lol), as well as other small Czech festivals. Of course, I also enjoy live shows of all different genres of music and theatre.
I'm trying to learn some languages - right now I'm studying Russian and in the future I'd like to sharpen my old, dull German and learn French, eventually (or Arabic. Or Persian. Or Welsh...). I'm also interested in history and cartography.
I'm not a sports person, but I love to walk, swim and cycle. Especially long walks are my kind of a thing.
I drink tea a lot, and I mean it. I even used to work in a tearoom, lol. It's a kind of my hobby as well, I guess.
Since I'm a former Waldorf student, I also know something about Waldorf pedagogy.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm that weird kind of person who loves metal (especially black, doom and death metal) as well as hip-hop and its subgenres. I'm very fond of classical music as well, especially the more recent works (20th century), jazz, blues and that kind of stuff. Also some psychadelic/stoner rock/metal. However, I'm open to other people's musical taste. To mention some names that are/were fundamental in forming my musical taste: The Mamas and the Papas, The Doors, Leonard Cohen, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Slayer, Death, Opeth, Burzum, Master's Hammer, Umbrtka, Electric Wizard, Hentai Corporation, Eminem, Cypress Hill, Prago Union, Gambrz reprs (and a lot of other names in the czech hip hop scene), Bones, Venetian Snares, The Prodigy, Ic3peak, Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, Ludwig van Beethoven, Claude Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninov, Gustav Holst, Camille Saint-Saens, the Strausses (including Richard :D), John Williams.
As of books, I have a special place for H. P. Lovecraft and T. Pratchett (weird mix, I know). Apart from those I read a lot of different stuff. I'm looking forward to reading all the great works of russian realism, which I'm planing to do after I (hopefully) achieve fluency in russian.
I have a bunch of favourite films (mostly by Monty Python fellows, E. Wright, S. Kubrick, Q. Tarantino, Coen brothers, D. Fincher and a lot of great Czech films that are, sadly, not well known to foreigners).
To name some of my favourite films: The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, In Brugges, the Cornetto trilogy by Edgar Wright, Inglorious Basterds, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, Trainspotting, The Boat That Rocked, Until the Light takes Us, Moon, Особенности национальной охоты (The peculiarities of the national hunt).
Apart from that I love the paintings of Albrecht Dürer, Vincent van Gogh and especially René Magritte.
