About Me

Although I am starting over from scratch here (my old account got lost somehow, and most of my guests came through word of mouth anyway), I am an extensively experienced travel host and guest. I have hosted and been hosted by lindy hoppers, traveling missionaries, action painters, hammock weavers, and documentary film makers.

I've visited over 20 countries and been visited by guests from over 10. I love travel above all because it is the perfect opportunity for communication, conversation, and connection. I travel not to see the sights, but to be with the people who are there.

I'm a database engineer for a travel company, an entrepreneur running an online business, a documentary photographer, poet, writer, actor, and activist. I'm a trained facilitator in Authentic Relating.

I am above all, as one friend very aptly observed, "a love creature".

Music, Movies, and Books

It's usually whatever I am listening to, reading, or watching right now.

"Love the one you're with", as the song says.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completed the full circuit trekking the Torres Del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia.

Teach, Learn, Share

The hardest lesson I've had to learn while traveling, and also the most rewarding lesson, is this:

Traveling deep is better than traveling wide.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music: I am always traveling with a musical instrument of some kind.

Technical Expertise: Got computer problems, let me solve them for you.

A damned fine chili recipe: In Texas, we know chili.

Gratitude in action: Expressing thanks is about more than saying the words. I love to do the dishes, prepare a meal, fix things, or otherwise contribute in some way to the home you are so graciously sharing.
