About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for a way to actually see the world. I absolutely love to travel and if the cost of housing was zero (or close to it) I would be able to spend my money on actually seeing the places I visit and experiencing what they have to offer. Also, my favorite thing about any place I visit is meeting new people and couchsurfing seems like an amazing way to do just that in a particularly immersive way.
Interests
I love to rock climb (bouldering mostly) as well as most anything outdoors including hiking (especially to the tops of mountains), kayaking, fishing, camping, and snowboarding on a few occasions. I also greatly enjoy trying new restaurants and kinds of food and learning how to cook good food at home as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music varies wildly. From bluegrass to salsa, rap in several languages to Mozart and Bethoven, classic rock to samba. You get the picture I'm sure. The list is actually much shorter of what I don't like. Any music that requires little to no skill to produce: pop garbage(30 total words used again and again with a catchy chorus), tasteless rap (the kind with a generic beat and unimaginative lyrics), and things of that nature.
I'll watch and enjoy most any movie that is professionally produced. Just as long as the movie doesn't appear amateurish I'll watch and enjoy myself. I do have favorites however which include: Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Big Lebowski, and anything by Quentin Tarantino.
I'll read anything thought provoking and I happily take suggestions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Costa Rica with my aunt and her family for 2 months while I took Spanish for foreigners classes at La Universidad de Costa Rica. During this time I had the opportunity to live like a local college student in San Jose, participate in Costa Rican traditions and holidays, and help with English classes the best I could (mostly I was a distraction) at the private school my family owns and operates.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am completely open to teach anything I know to anyone who is interested and my attitude about learning is the same. I believe there will never be a point where I have learned enough and am satisfied, so I would love to learn to cook local food, speak a little bit of any language, participate in other cultures, and anything else a host (or his/her friends) is interested in teaching me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am more than willing to work or help out with activities, chores, cooking meals, or anything else that needs doing in exchange for the free place to stay and a new friend or two.
