About Me

Apart from being Brazilian, I also possess Italian nationality.

Since I was a child I traveled to many cities in Brazil to stroll and to compete in sports (judo, swimming, rugby). In addition to travel a lot because of sports, I had the opportunity to travel to several countries to tour, sometimes together with family and sometimes with friends.

As for my own personality, I can say I like organization and neatness; I am not shy nor do I feel frustrated for making mistakes – I would feel this way if I wouldn't try to correct and learn from them; thought I like fantasy and fiction books and movies, I am a realistic person (but I never stopped dreaming too); sometimes I enjoy been alone on my own space, but I never refuse a good time with family or friends – even more if I have the opportunity to meet new people and hear their stories.

Last but not least, I have a particular love for the snowy mountains, for the snow itself, for green fields, historic cities, for the colors of autumn and for the cold and refreshing air of winter… This is paradise on my dreams!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing because I really enjoy meeting new people -- to listen to their stories, to learn how they live and what they enjoy.. Simply, to share experiences!

Interests

I've always had a great curiosity about the history of civilization, perhaps with a little more interest in art history.. I love reading – fiction, fantasy, Japanese comics etc. - and studying; practicing sports – judo, rugby, swimming, horse riding, skiing, biking; and I have a special interest, as for my future profession, in conservation and preservation of cultural heritage, focusing in disaster risk management.

Music, Movies, and Books

Regarding music I am very eclectic.. Usually I pay attention to the music itself and not to the person singing, so if you ask me about singers or bands, there is no way I'll be able to answer it!

As for books, I realy like reading fantasy and fiction books: Lord of the Rings, The Name of the Wind, Narnia, The Golden Compass, The Lies of Locke Lamora, The Left Hand of God, Harry Potter and a lot more.. But I also like to study, so I read books and articles related to history, heritage, conservation, disaster risks etc.

I am also eclectic about movies.. action, adventure, drama, comedy etc. I also really like TV series: Star Trek, Supernatural, Sherlock Holmes, The 100, Fringe, White Collar, Game of Thrones and many more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not a good teacher (I think, because I never really taught before!), but I enjoy sharing knowledge and experiences. I love to study and learn new things, so I am always willing to talk and experiment.

I have a degree in Sculpture (yep, sculpture..), a specialization degree in Conservation and Restoration of Architectural Historical Monuments, a professionalizing course in Fire Fighting, and many others in civil defence and disaster risk reduction. I participated in the restoration of a Cathedral, lived for seven months in a hostel in São Paulo (Brazil), three in Venice (Italy) and one in Seoul (South Korea). I did a Master in World Heritage Studies: I spent my first semester in Germany and my second and third doing exchange programmes in Cairo (Egypt) and in Tsukuba (Japan). I interned at an international organization in Rome and now I am intering at another one, in Istanbul! .. We can talk about this stuff, for starters!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences, my stories, things that I know and also some of those I have no idea..

I can listen and I talk. I can do and learn how to do.

And sometimes the only thing we have to share is silence.. but that is is a good thing to share too...
