About Me

I'm Carmem, half Chilean and from Brazil. At the moment I'm volunteering in a philosophical Camphill Community in the north of England, UK, where I share my life with people from all over the world and with young people with special needs, those who always bring me a lot of life and opportunities to learn.

My main activity here is being a farmer, which I enjoy very much for the reason that I can have an intense and great contact with the nature. I've also got other activities involving different sort of crafts.

I'll very soon be closing this period - for sure I'm gonna miss it very much - going back to Sao Paulo, to a completely different and much more "real" life.

There I wish and will carry on with CS, but this time as being a host. That's the way I find best of somehow giving back to people what I have been receiving over this two years, and it is also an opportunity of keeping the traveler and international spirit inside of my own home, even tough not travelling for a while. I'm really looking forward for that! :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people with different horizons, point of view and histories. If there is a true fact in life, I dare to say: when one teaches, two learn. Everyone can get something from one another, and if you are open to get those things, even better. That is the reason why I am here. To live, share, love and make friends for LIFE.

Interests

Music, piano, nature, animals, farming, gardening, travelling, reading, bicycling, rares landscapes, tropical beaches, sports, curative education, meditation, God, woodwork, all sort of crafts, needlework, family, good friends and anyone that is willing to have positive attitudes towards life and the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It is difficult to say... Maybe doing what I'm doing now and getting involve in a "World Youth Day", that happened in 2013 in Rio, Brazil. There I had great experiences, like camping and sleeping on the streets with thousands of people from all over the world and at the same time, all together, having deep learning moments.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Nice conversations, experiences, joy, thoughts and also a good spirit. I could cook a meal, with a good talk and Brazilian music or anything else that you would like, even if it means that you want to have your own space and time.

Countries I’ve Visited
