About Me

I am a 30 years old Costa Rican traveler and I'm currently studying in Pisa.
I love to meet new people, get immersed into cultures, learn new languages and expand my comfort zone.
The world is big and life too short, traveling around the world is my passion and the best university, and people I meet in the way my teachers.
My hobbies....I like to read novels, especially from Latin American like Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Isabel Allende, I enjoy watching documentaries, good conversation and coffee, but above all a good conversation.
I'm an agriculture economist and I'm currently doing a PhD on food security and nutrition in Africa, I must say that I'm an idealist and think I can change the world for a better place, or at least trying.
I use to swim a lot, not in the first ones to get a medal but I enjoy it, and that's what matters to me, happiness is made by little things that make us happy, at least that's what I believe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't use coachsurfing but I have heard good experiences from friends and I would like to give it try. I like the idea to spend time with people who live in the country I'm visiting, that's the best way to know country and not be a tourist but a traveler.
I'm very easy going, funny and humble, I'm sure I will meet good people using coachsurfing.

Interests

As I said before I love to meet people, travel and learning.
I also enjoy studying, I'm not the smartest one but I try hard.
I also use to swim in open seas, It is one my favorites hobbies, but it's been a while since I don't compete.
I've done also many volunteering. If we are in this world we must retribute something, It pleased me to help in whatever in can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, I like cold play, florence and the machine, mumford and sons, imagine dragons and many others.... also some hits of the moment like Adele and Beyonce :D.
Movies I love Out in Africa, that's my favorite one, The Bridges of Madison County, in general every movie with Meryl Streep, Casa Blanca, Beyond Borders, and the Life of Pi. I like mean full movies and action movies with secret agents hehe.
I'm a fan of Latin American literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing that changed my life and the way of seeing things was a volunteer I did with Rseligh International in Costa Rica building a school in an indigenous reserve. I spend 3 weeks in the jungle with indigenous people and then made a 7 days trek in Nicaragua.
It made me realize that happiness it's a choice and not a condition, and that I'm stronger than I think, the more you push your boundaries the more you learn about yourself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my culture, some Costa Rican food, experiences, latin dances and I can teach Spanish. I love languages and I hope I can learn some words from my hosts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Share good moments and Costa Rican food, :D
