About Me

I'm a senior at UC Berkeley studying economics. I really enjoy studying about the effects of economics on minority groups and developing countries. I hope to work for a company that helps people that do not have as many opportunities to succeed. Aside from my academics, I also enjoy learning languages. I have improved much with my Portuguese and French, but I definitely need to practice more. I like staying active so I am always doing something. I love exploring and meeting new people. I was born in Mexico and go back every year for the most part. This last summer I spent 3 months in Europe of which I travelled for 2. I studied and lived in Lisboa, Portugal for one month. I gotta say, it was one of my favorite countries in Europe. Come January, I will move to Brazil for a 7 months where I will study community development and economics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The Couchsurfing community is filled with open minded individuals that are down to learn about my culture as well as sharing theirs. I really like meeting people like that. I really like to introduce people to my home and the culture that surrounds it. Also, I just came back from Europe and I really enjoy the surfing experience.

Interests

I really enjoy working out, watching movies/shows, concerts, parties, hiking, going on roadtrips and exploring. I do all of the above quite a bit.

I also enjoy just relaxing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have too many artists I like that the list would be way too long to write. I especially like rock, reggae, hip hop, and rap.

I am not picky with movies at all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a lot of stories in this department, from random trips to crazy nights. I also just came back from a 3 month trip in Europe and have countless stories from there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak five languages from limited to advanced fluency: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Norwegian.

I am always willing to learn more of these languages as well as the cultures where couchsurfers may be coming from or I will be going to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have my fair share of stories from my travels around Europe. I am really up for anything. I am athletic, so I'm willing to join you in any physical exercise. I enjoy a good beer so I won't say no to that. I enjoy video games so I'm up for a challenge. I come from a multicultural background and have many multicultural friends so we can have diverse discourses. I am very familiar with the history and politics that surround where I live. I can share all of the knowledge I have from recommendations of places to go to amazing restaurants.
