About Me

Hi, I am just finishing up my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Idaho. In my education I studied abroad in Lancaster, UK and I was fortunate enough to get to travel to several places including Ireland, Croatia, Turkey, Bosnia, and of course the Netherlands. I don't get much free time because of my studies, but when I do I like to spend it outdoors or hanging out with friends! In my spare moments I play video games like Mario Cart or work in the machine shop on campus making whatever my heart desires :).
I work as a tutor for kids on the UI campus or even high school students in the community around Moscow, ID. Since I naturally am a little bit of a nerd, I love to geek out about all sorts of things... yes even math!
I am new to couch surfing because every time I have traveled I stayed in hostels, which are great in many cases, but the financial burden can be overwhelming at times... especially for a poor college student.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Opportunities tend to present themselves to me where I get the chance to go abroad. I also thing that staying in hostels is great, but sometimes they can be a little less than you bargained for. Ideally I would like to stay with people that are immersed in the culture so that I could get a chance to learn a little something from them! I have never done couch surfing, but I know several people who have and they always say they had a pleasant time with their hosts.

Interests

I love automotive sports because I would like to be an engineer for a race team some day! Hiking outdoors, I like to watch ice hockey, fishing, I enjoy a beer every now and then, I like to read mentally stimulating books, sketching/ drawing, good music, nice people, historic art

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: rap/hip-hop, classical, classic rock, a little bit of country... really I kind of like a lot of different kinds of music.
MOVIES: Interstellar, Inception, Her, Friday, sometimes Anime is good too :)
BOOKS: The One Who Flew Over the Coo Coo's Nest, The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, Night, and anything that is written by Jack London

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think this is a little bit of a boastful section, but I'll give into it. I guess one amazing thing that I have done, aside from my study abroad adventures, was during an internship that I had. As an undergraduate engineer I was able to design and test a nuclear fuel apparatus that greatly improved our knowledge of how to make nuclear energy safer!!

Teach, Learn, Share

This is all I do. I love opportunities to learn from others! Not only in academia, but in just life in general so that one day I can share what I have learned from the world to someone else, if they are willing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If it is required I can provide compensation for my hosts! I can also pay in kindness and being agreeable :)
If they would like to know more about me and my life I would be more than happy to share.
I am very open to anything really
