Overview
About Me
I’m Julie and I’m currently volunteering as a teacher in Thailand. I can honestly say that it’s one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made! These kids have taught me so much about myself and taught me how to be patient ;) We have a lot of misunderstandings but at the end of the day it’s not something a smile can’t fix :)
I'm very open-minded, which really helped me adapt to Thai-culture and I love how I don't find it crazy seeing four people on a scooter anymore. I like to consider myself funny, but my friends don't always agree ;) Hearing other people's stories is my favorite part of travelling and it's also one of the main purposes for couch surfing. Other than that I'm good company, very smiling and always up for new adventures :)
There's this quote from one of my favorite artists that goes:
"I have met so many people. We've exchanged so many words. We've said it all, we've said nothing but it changed us." - Tina Dickow
And it keeps ringing it my head when I'm traveling, because isn't it just so true? :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've lived in America for a year and I'm currently living in Thailand. What I've learned from living abroad is that there's no better way of experiencing a new country and a new culture, than through the people who live it every day.
I'm so grateful for all the people who let complete strangers into their homes and who are willing share a little bit of themselves.
I'm new to CS, so I'm sorry if some of my requests are too general, but I swear that I'll try to be the best guest :)
Interests
I love dancing!
I'm a zumba instructor if you're interested in learning a step or two :)
Also I'm taking an online TEFL-course at the moment just to help me become a better teacher.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading! I just finished reading 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini and I'm always open for to new suggestions.
My favorite band is the Danish band Kashmir. Their lyrics is like listening to art. You should look them up some time :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doing a studentexchange just because it felt right, not necessarily because I knew why I wanted to.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some facts about Danish traditions and our culture. Other than that I make a pretty good quiche and I'm down for almost everything :) If you're interested I can teach you Danish. We can start by trying to pronounce 'Rød grød med fløde' ;)
