About Me
Hi there. It is always so hard to talk about ourselves, right? Well, at least let me try. I'm a simple brazilian guy who got really lucky in life to have had all the opportunities that I did. First, let me start with some background. I was born in a really simple family, son of a tailor and an electrician. I have two siblings, me being the yougest. When I was 17 I got a full scholarship for Engineering School, which I just finished. I also got an one year worth scholarship to study at Colorado State University, in the US. Oh yeah, I learned English by myself (don't ask me how haha). I'm also an English teacher for begginers, and I practice Taekwondo. I love to travel and to learn new things. To dance and to sing (yes, I know how to samba). Languages are my passion! I also try to help my community, mostly through church. I'm catholic and I'm a part of the youth group, as well as a singer and mass helper. I am not obsessed with religion tho, much less judgmental. I fully respect every religion and the lack thereof. It's probably worth mentioning that I am very respectful overall, I have friends from all around the world, and I love each one of them the same. I'm a little shy at first, but once I get to know someone, I tend to speak a lot. Get to know me and I may have something to share with you, I will definitely try.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always heard of couchsurfing and people who've done it, however I never tried. The reason I'm joining it right now is this: My church offered me a one time opportunity to participate in the World Youth of 2016 in Poland, due to the work I've been doing with our church youth. They will help with my tickets (plus 5 other young people) through a donnation of people that supports the iniciative. Couchsurfing seems like the perfect opportunity to make possible this adventure, as well as using it as a door to learn new languages, get to know people, and exchange some cultural experience throughout Europe. Once I come back, I'll definitely open my doors to people who want to do the same, as I did hosting an american friend for a week, which was SO FUN.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have done so many amazing things, from small to big. However, something that really stuck in my mind was during my exchange program in the US. I was invited to represent the brazilian exchange students group, which was over 100 people big. We were invited for the first time to participate in the World Unity Fair, where we had to present pieces of our brazilian culture. Along with other 5 people I organized a dance presentation with funk, samba and forró. Something that I will always remember is a meeting where there was people representing every country. At that moment I realized how rich cultures around the world can be, with their own food, clothing, language and etc. That made me want to meet every corner of this big old world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure what I should write here. HAHA.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a very patient person so I would definitely take the time to teach some Portuguese. I can also share brazilian culinary (which is AMAZING) and some of our history and rich culture. I can also teach you how to samba if you are interested hahaha.
