About Me

I'm a girl from a small but amazing country Slovakia in Europe. I love hiking, climbing, snowboarding, swimming, running, generally I like outdoor activities but I also love to sit down and read a book, drink a good espresso, enjoy a cold beer with friends over a thoughful conversation and also having fun and plan new adventures.

I studied translation and interpreting in university, so I'm this linguistic nerd who likes to get into the fun parts of the language and I'm always happy to lear some new expressions which can be learnt only from a native speaker. I'm fascinated how everything is easier when I speak the language of the country I travel to. I also enjoy getting more into science, especially chemistry and biology as it is now a part of my job and also I'm interested in the world politics.

I've met so many good people on my travels so far and I'm excited to get more into the couchsurfing world because it has so much to offer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing few years ago but only recently I began to understand how many things it offers and how awesome is the whole concept of it! I'm excited to stay with locals and hang out with them and also participate at some events it offers.

Interests

I love hiking, spending time in nature, speleology and recently I really got into climbing. As a translator I'm constantly learning new things because one day I'm at the conference about human rights and the other day I'm translating a talk about new discoveries in physics so it takes time to learn and prepare. I like history, getting to know more about about real life in different countries (including political system, education, healthcare system). I like to volunteer in our local library back home, preparing various events for kids and seniors. During the warmer months I like running, day bicycle trips, long walks, hiking, swimming and during the colder months I like ice skating, snowboarding, skiing and I love to spend time with people what I love anytime of the year!

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to books, I love classic, you can learn so much about the world from classic French, British, American, Russian (and so much more) bookwriters.

I love listening to music while I'm traveling somewhere, I don't listen to a specific genre of music I like when it gets me either by melody or lyrics.

I like watching movies which have some interesting and unexpected twist in a story like Inception, Hidden Face, Lost Island or also stories based on some real person like Beautiful Mind.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn another language and be fluent in it. I can teach you how to make an origami heart! :D I can also teach you some basic knots for rock climbing, some phrases from my mother tongue - Slovak - which is awesome and share a good positive vibes! I'd love to share whatever would interest you if I know anything about it :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good listener and I really love to listen to people's life stories.
