My name is Michał and I'm from Warsaw in Poland.

I'm a musician, I play drums, guitar, bass, and a little bit piano. I play in few polish bands, Welur, Kate the Ripper, Pleń, sometimes I play covers with my friend from work, and I record some solo stuff.
I work as a IT guy in Warsaw and study electrical engineering - about to be bachelor of science. Beside all that, I'm truly into independent music like Car Seat Headrest, My Bloody Valentine, Swirlies, watching movies in cinema, and making photos with my analog camera.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Almost every band I'd like to see performing live won't come to Poland, so I guess there's no other way than just see them in other countries. Moreover, I don't have much abroad experience and I really want to change that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm truly into art, especially music and movies, so it's not easy to point only few of my favourite artists. I like talking about other peoples work, because I think everyone looks at certain thing at the different angles and it's truly interesting to understand different points of view.

Most of all I like shoegaze and lo-fi pop stuff, but I also enjoy independent jazz artists. I believe that nothing makes you more of a music fan that attending shows and supporting independent musicians, so nothing makes me more happy than spending all my money on merch and stuff.

I'm a very casual cinema fan, I haven't seen every classic or must-see movie there is, however I think that what makes it so interesting is the way I see it and discussing other points of view. And also I believe that screenplays in general are underrated because of all attention directed to actors.

My favourite book of all time is Catcher in the rye. Despite general saying that main character is spoiled kid, in my opinion he just suffers from overthinking and lack of understandong with his own nature. Beside that, there's this forgotten book I love - Kane and Abel. Imo ust-read.

I've got a lot of experience in making music. I know that it's hard to start if you know absolutely nothing, so I can teach you a little bit about that.

And I was working as a bartender for over two years, that was cool. I know thing of two about kinds of alcohols and cocktail shaking.
