About Me

My name is Lau Siu Yan. My nick name is Vona. I am a student from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.I am currently studying Degree of Business Administration. I am a professional day dreamer. I am currently doing a lot of things I want to do. I am practicing guitar and singing so as to go busking. I am quite a mad girl doing things crazy. I believe in dreams, love and hope. I am the kind of person who don't always stick to rules and try to live differently every day. I believe life is constituted with moments instead of chasing money.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I dream a lot about being an adventurer. I used to stay in my comfort zone. However, I realize that the world outside my comfort zone is big and I want to explore it. I don't want to be just a traveler. I want to meet people in the country I go to and I want to live in the way they live. I want to be their friends and be part of their life. Meeting people different from you is interesting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. Work at HK Airport
I meet people from different nations. I was shy when I was a teenager. I am lucky to have chance to work at airport. One of this interesting experience was to communicate with people with their body language if we did not share the common language!

2. Trip in Beijing
I have fantastic moments in Beijing, seeing the Great Wall, the Palace and so on. I ate many things that I have never tried before. I even ate scorpion there too. I am an open-minded person and willing to try many things.

3. Exchange program to Xian
I met people from Taiwan, Macau and also China. We have shared our differences in culture. Some of them become my friends. One of the most amazing attraction is Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. But my bag was nearly stolen by a thief in a mall.

4. Orientation Camp
I am quite an active student in the university in the previous year. I organised ocamps with other students. And I was responsible in taking video or a smalll film. It's a lot fun in doing this. I learnt After Effect after that period.

Omg! Here comes the end. I hope you can be part of my amazing things;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to say hello in Cantonese or Mandarin. And if you want to speak more, I sure can teach you. I can tell you how things work in Chinese Culture and you may avoid offending Chinese when you make a Chinese friend.;) The political environment of Hong Kong is quite complicated with China. People of Hong Kong are Chinese but our culture or even language are quite different from China. If you want to know more, I can tell you for sure. I can share my daily life in Hong Kong and also special moments.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1.Hong Kong's snacks, beer, souvenirs, CDs, books, and movies.
2. Hong Kong's culture and Chinese culture.
3.The story of Hong Kong with China
4. I can cook for you!
5. I can sing and play guitar for you!
6. I am very delightful to hang out with you if you are free!
