Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im going by New Years Eve to New York and i had everything planned but the time i bought the ticket, but suddenly a couple of weeks ago my friend who was supposed to receive me at her place told me that its not gonna be possible to stay there, so right now i don't have enough money and i just got a new job so im not really in a position to spend a lot of money in hotels, and I've been heard really good things about couchsurfing so i hope someone can host me and maybe show me around :)
