Overview
About Me
I love travelling and learning about different societies, customs and peoples. India particularly fascinated me where I spend 8 months travelling, doing yoga and learning about Hinduism. Therefore I am a postgraduate student in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna where I also read for an additional Bachelor´s degree in South Asian Studies. Since I will be an exchange student (ERASMUS) during Spring 2016 at Maynooth University, I am hoping to find a nice and interesting host who would accommodate me for a few days and would enjoy introducing me to the place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don´t have friends in Ireland but I wish to find open-minded and interesting people to share my first Irish experiences and moments with.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Already when I was a teenager I used to read a lot. At that time Hermann Hesse had a deep impact on me and my thinking. During the last years I´ve read books and articles on various topics which where often related to my studies at the university. One of my favourite authors in the realm of social sciences is Michel Foucault. Lately I started to increasingly read Indo-English authors such as Arundhati Roy, Amitav Ghosh, Salman Rushdie. I enjoy William Dalrymple as well.
Music: I listen to various kinds of music, difficult to name one particular style. In my playlists are artists such as Alt-j, Masaladosa, Ben Howard, Glass Animals, Manu Delago, M.I.A., Anoushka Shankar, ... I used to go to psy-trance festivals.
Movies: The last good movies I saw were part of the trilogy by Deepa Mehta `Fire, Earth, Water´.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking up to the source of the Ganges which is located in the Himalayas. It was an amazing experience and I can still hear the cracking of the ice.
Diving in Tobago was stunning and utterly psychedelic. No words to describe the magic going on down there.
Teach, Learn, Share
Life is an ongoing process of learning, sharing and exploring.
