Hi there :) My name is Gürhan Gürsoy, I know it is unusual for you and you won't be able to pronounce in first time but trust me I'll teach you how to say name but if it's imposibble for you, call me 'Gu' it's ok :)

I'm from Turkey and I’m an engineer, civil engineer. I live in İzmir, where is the 3. biggest city, in Turkey. When I say I'm from Turkey everybody says 'Oh, are you from İstanbul ?' :) I know İstanbul is a wonderful city but trust me İzmir as beaıtiful as İstanbul :)

I've been to almost 15 countries and I’ve lived in 3 different countries. I've met lots of people around the world and i understood that there are many fantastic people everywhere but I want to meet more people, listen more story about their experience and share something about me. This website is the best way to reach new people from different countries :)

When you decided to come Turkey you have cozy home in İzmir or İstanbul. Dont be hesitate just let me know :) Being your host and introduce my country makes me blissful :)

I'm similing, evertyhing makes me laugh and sometimes cant stop laughing :) and also I'm kind of agony aunt because sometimes I prefer to listen instead of speaking and trust me I’m good listener :) Especially if you have interesting stories i could listen until morning :) I'm 25 but my friends say ' You are elderly person i've ever seen' :) Because I prefer to stay at home with my friends instead of going out to pub, of course I’m going but it's not first option for me usually :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have travelled nearly whole Europe and stayed at a hostel usually that's why I didn't get in touch with local people and couldn't learn their culture well so decided to sign up couchsurfing. I think I can meet more people through this web site and learn a lot of things about their culture :)

Interests

I'm fan of Beşiktaş. Beşiktaş is one of the biggest football clubs in Turkey. And I'm crazy about my football team :) If you are interested in football I have lots of things that tells about it :)
I like travellig, such as everbody in this website and want to listen new stories that I have never known before :)
I'm an engineer and keen on everything about engineering so if you have similar job or you are interested in this kind of things we can talk everything :)
I'm willing to explore and eat new dishes especially local ones. if you want to cook something from your country don't fear to use my kitchen because I'm already ready to taste it :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did interrail with my best friend two years ago. It was such an amazing experience. We've been the most famous cities and places. Actually sometimes everthing didn't go well. Because we couldn't find anywhere to stay and we had to stay in a park or in front of train station with homelesses :) Especially I’ll never forget one night where we slept in front of Bologna train station, we hadn't lived anyday as frightened as that day before :) When i think about that days it makes me laugh. I really can't believe myself still because we slept almost 10 days outside and i dont know how did we do this :) I think travelling is the best way to explore yourself or to understand who you are. I have many friends from different countries , love them :) I've learned a lot of things about their culture so i'm delighted for this. I like improving myself because there are million things in the world, we have to learn and we'll never be that enough.

I'm going to go to Hungary/Szekszard as a volunteer in March and i'll be staying there for 2 months. We will help children I think it will be amazing :)

( I'm back :) and it was really amazing experience for me I'll never forget it. I felt that I’m useful during 2 months in completely unfamiliar somewhere. Because I didnt know where is Szekszard or who they are but luckily someone gave me a chance to go there and i'm thankful all of them. I want to do it again maybe find a new chance )

Now I'm in Dublin for English course for 3 months andI’ll be here 3 months more. Because my English isn't enough to communicate with native English speakers I hope will be better day by day.

By the Ireland is wonderful country. Irish people could be the best people in the world. They are thoughful, friendly, talkative especially after three pints Guinness :) If you think about to go to Ireland don't think just buy your flight ticket and pack your back :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm good listener and I like listening people's stories. Because i believe that experiences made us who we are now. When you tell me your stories I'll think that what would I do if I were you ? Because I might face your experience in my life and want to be ready :)

If you are interested in really Turkish culture I can help you. Unfortunalety there is a massive misunderstanding about my country and it makes me aggrieve :(
