About Me

In short: Easygoing, active on a relaxed level and open minded.
36 years old, raised on the Austrian countryside, made quite a lot of different working experiences over the last 2 decades but more important also travelled and lived in different countries. From 2007-2009 spent almost 2,5 years in South America as a volunteer and traveling the continent.
Moved to Vienna in 2009 and lived most of the time in a huge shared flat with 6-7 friends who became family and a priceless experience.

After a long time of saving money I fullfilled one of my biggest dreams for years, which was travelling by bycicle, just free as a bird with everything I need (camping and cooking equipment ,... ) towards Asia. Sleeping in nature, not knowing what the next day will bring, staying curious about the world and simply enjoying what nature and humanity has to offer.
The 1st time i went by myself for 7 months crossing most of the balkan countries, Turkey, Cyprus till Iraqi Kurdistan where i had to stop because of Covid. A year later I started again from Vienna, this time together with my girlfriend, and we passed further on to Georgia/Armenia/Iran/Pakistan/India and Nepal.
Truly an unforgettable experience, which I still process.

Now I settled again in Vienna and live with my girlfriend and 4 more friends in another shared flat. (yes, i love this kind of lifestyle and also see myself living in communities in the future).

And no, I don’t think that it was the last time that we embark on such a journey ;). Just that for the next few years I also want to support and enjoy life here in Austria/Vienna. (which is an incredible privilege)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just love the idea and the philosophy. In my experience it's always a benefit for hosts as for guests, as long as there is open communication, mutual respect and enough space.
There is always something we can learn from each other. Specially being a host, my main benefit is to dive into travellers mindset while having everyday life and the curiosity to see your own homecountry and city. Not to forget to have insights into their invaluable experiences and the possibility to reflect my own experiences.

Interests

I love sharing time with my friends, riding my bike, be in nature and mountains, cuddle or play with animals and of course food. (specially while cycling ;))
Generally I'm open for any kind of conversation/topic.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, thats quite a big variety, beginning from independent and Indie music, to Rock classic but also (and the last years mainly) to electronic music such as tech house and so on.
Actually i should listen to more music, which i kind of stopped doing it regularly over the last years.

Similar it's with movies. In short I love movies that really catches me, have a touching/captivating story and in love with unexpected twists or endings. From artistic B-movies, historical to classical Thriller - I'm open for any recommendations too.

Books, well books. Actually i love reading once i start, but honestly I could never cultivate the discipline over the years to really get a glimpse of what books have to offer. (unfortunately as I'm very much aware of that public gem)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haha, wow. I'm happy to say that I won't fill this list. Better let's start a conversation and let's see where it takes us. There is so much i experienced, that many times i forget it myself.
Being grateful is one I want to pass on, even if you don't request or accept :).

Teach, Learn, Share

What i learned and experienced about how the world and it's people are if you stay open minded and with a positive attitude.
I try to live an unmaterialistic way of life, acording to our true nature and not harming our environment. (as far as we can say this as having a western kind of lifestyle)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well that depends a lot on how much time I have the days you request, but what i can definitely offer is a safe, clean and nice place to sleep and everything else which is common for a western home. Hopefully also shared time and meals together at my home and in best case even explore the city and doing activities around (if you are open up to).
