About Me

Hey Guys!
I am Frederike, 27 years old and from the north of Germany.
I currently live in Hamburg, Germany work for a media agency.

Since my Parents already took me to many places in Europe, I grew up with a great travel experience. The best vacation I went on with my parents was in 2008, a round trip in the US.
I am pretty sure that's where everything started.
In 2011, with 15 years I went on an exchange Program with AFS, I lived the dream of every teenage girl - 11 months in California
That trip started to change my view of people, culture and way of living.
I became even more open minded and became sure that traveling is probably one of the best ways to learn new things, no matter what.

I then moved to Reims, France in 2015 to work als an Au Pair for 10 months and also lived in Montreal and Gothenburg for about 6 months each. Now I’ve found my „Homebase“ in Hamburg and am more for the shorter trips around the world. :)

I think that's enough for the beginning, we will have the chance to chat when we meet!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Good question... When my friend first told me about couchsurfing I was a little afraid and sceptical.. staying at a strangers place on your own... doesnt necessarily sound like the best thing to do for a young girl
But when I first went to Luxembourg I experienced a very very nice time with my friend and our host! Until now it was the only time I did couchsurfing but I am sure to do it again!
It is so much better than staying in a hotel with your friend or on your own, not because it's less expensive, but you just learn so much more about people, the city, you have the chance to go out with your host and visit the parts of the city that aren't as touristic - and that's what traveling is mostly about right? Not the touristic areas but the people and the real way of living.
