About Me
I believe learning new things is one of my biggest passions. For me, traveling is the biggest learning experience: just walking on the streets of Tokyo or talking to a local and many of your ideas and values will just fall apart! That's why I see the world as a never-ending discovery and traveling and meeting new people the best way to get to know it. I try to value every small detail of life. While traveling, I still get surprised by every small thing that makes every country unique. I love to stay in a cafe and just peacefully observe how the people laugh and talk to each other! I enjoy writing a lot, reading and taking pictures :)
I have a scientific background and I recently finished my PhD, I'm mostly interested now in finding out how I want my career to be, but for sure it will be focused on nature, social justice or community projects ;) I also love music, I've played the piano for years in the music school and now I want to explore improvisation. Just jamming and have fun with friends! You can check my profile on LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/in/nuria-m-wentzien), I didn't updated in the last months though because I was traveling around SEA.
If I have to choose, I will be in a natural spot, but I love as well to be in the city, mostly singing with friends and wandering around artistic neighborhoods! I'm kind of obsessed with cute cafes so... let's meet there?;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I'm traveling, I find meeting new people the most rewarding thing. Socializing gives me lots of energy and new insights about human beings (the most interesting subject) and different cultures! I also learn a lot about myself when talking to others, it kind of makes me go out of my shell. When I'm back to Spain, I would love to host people too :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Live music is one of the most amazing things to me, specially Jazz but also Flamenco (typical music from south of Spain, my home area). But I also love pop music, rock and so on.
Recently I've mostly read about self development, I really enjoyed "the midnight library" because it gives you lots of life advice mingled with a fantasy story (my favourite). Similar to that one, I really enjoyed reading the never ending story. In Spanish, Jorge Luis Borges would be one of the best writers for me.
I like poetry a lot (both reading and writing).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've stayed for three weeks in the Borneo jungle doing workaway, with no signal and no way to go to the village because the roads are just mud (with very high free fall if the car lose control). I slept in a tent but also I did hammocking, waking up surrounded by poisonous spiders.
I did a PhD, after so much work and effort into it, I think is kind of impresive :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm trying not to forget the little german I know and improve it, also some japanese and chinese (just basic for travelling). I love to teach so I can help with Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm that kind of person that's always laughing, so you will have fun with me for sure ;) I can share my traveling experiences and my spanish culture. We spanish always want to be outside with friends and eating good food! I can cook some nice things too 😀
