About Me

Hey I am a Colombian illustrator, graphic/web designer and video editor. I am currently in Mexico but have plans to travel through Europe in the near future (I am one of the lucky ones who works remotely!)

I am somewhat introverted and might come off timid or closed at first, but once I gain a bit of momentum and feel mutual trust, I let go and release my full-on happy, joking and caring personality. I enjoy a good party, concert or bar crawl as much as the next guy, as long as there's someone I know around...!

I love films, music, swimming and drawing--I draw a lot! Look me up on www.latiapereques.com , that is my personal illustration website.

I absolutely love concerts and music festivals, and I have been going to concerts since I can remember. My last music festival was Corona Capital in Mexico City, where I got to see LCD Soundsystem, Kraftwerk, Courtney Barnett, Richard Ashcroft, Super Furry Animals, Grimes, Animal Collective, Air, Band of Horses, Yuck, Sofi Tukker, Eagles of Death Metal... it was incredible!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel through Europe for my birthday (around April 2018). I work online so I can be wherever there's Wi-Fi. I want to meet new people, experience new things and above all, see as much of the world as I can before I croak!

You get the idea. I am passionate about these things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I quit my 9-5 and became independent. I have clients now instead of bosses. I work from home. I have no debt, I have only goals and I am free!

I also got to go onstage at a Belle & Sebastian gig (one of my fav bands) and got to dance with the band onstage and sing the last line of "The Boy With the Arab Strap" with Stuart Murdoch. If you know the band you'll get what I mean. It was absolutely wicked.

For my birthday this year I tandem skydived off Puerto Escondido (on the Pacific coast of Mexico). It was incredible, I almost still can't believe it already happened. I have also done parasailing in Colombia twice. You can say I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie, needless to say I love roller coasters and all those things. The only fear I have in life is to miss out on anything I'd like to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you anything related to my field of work. I am currently also learning to do basic code (HTML/CSS/etc) so if you're into Computer Science this could be a fun, yet geeky, match.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Drawings and some random useful facts about movies! I also love to take walks around town just to see the sights, hang out at parks, libraries and go to concerts!
