About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Figuring out what to do in my life while traveling as much as possible!

ABOUT ME

I'm am a brand new and finished physics graduate, but the question of if this was the correct choice still remains! I have a talent for trying to push choices regarding my future forward, and one of those sidetracks led me to live in Singapore, where a taste for traveling and meeting new people was acquired. Now back in Sweden again I'm as confused and travel-happy as ever.

PERSONALITY

I'm an easy-to-get-along-with person, with an open and liberal mindset! I prefer doing some fun or challenging activity when hanging out with people rather than simply getting together to talk. I'm somewhat introverted in that I need time for myself to recharge, but somewhat extroverted in that I really enjoy the experience of hanging out with new people.

When traveling the first thing I try to do in new places is to get as high up as possible, regardless of if its a skyscraper or a mountain. I'd rather go hiking in the mountains than go to the beach, and prefer drinking beer in a cozy pub over a nightclub. My aim abroad is to get a feeling for the place I'm visiting and not just watch it from the outside, which as a tourist is far too easy.

I like discussing deeper topics such as politics or philosophy in a lighthearted manner much more than ordinary small talk. I also enjoy playing the devil's advocate to get a discussion going.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing seems like the perfect thing to use to get around and hang out with cool people while on the road.

Interests

Different thing, depending on the current alignment of the stars. Some recurring interests are:

- Stage lighting: Having done a lot of unprofessional stage engineering, the process of lighting design have become more and more fascinating the more I have dabbled in the subject. Side effects include an unhealthy obsession with the colour of purple.

-Gaming: The social atmosphere of a board game with friends, the extreme competative spirit of online RTSs or the captivating storytelling of a role playing game all show different aspects of why I think games are everything but a waste of time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I enjoy jazz, classical, progressive rock from the 80s and electronica, but all genres have some amazing music even if it takes some time to find. Some bands I always come back to are Weather Report, Genesis and Kaizers Orchestra.

I mostly read Science Fiction or Fantasy, but as before I do not like to tie good books to any particular genre. Authors I adore are Terry Pratchett, Gene Wolfe and Neil Gaiman.

Recently I have mostly tried to watch movies from China to learn the language better. The best Wuxia movie is easily House of the Flying Daggers!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled by the land rout from Singapore to Sweden, spending some time in South East Asia, backpacking in China and exploring Japan.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to share any of my knowledge with people who are interested! The subjects where I can claim some sort of academic knowledge are particle physics and history, but that is rather dry. I like discussing and providing insight into stage show production and traveling in Asia. It is also fun if someone would like to know some of my native tongue, Swedish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- An adventurous spirit up for any challenge you might come up with!
- Civilized conversation over a glass of wine.
- I can bake a mean chocolate cake requiring only the most basic ingredients.
