I love visiting vintage bookstores. I used to blog intermittently, but found that I am always caught between what's too private and what's not. I love photography; my personal tangible goal is to take prints that look like post cards. I love listening to the sound of waves, but I think I'm still more inclined to live in the mountains. As you can probably tell from the description above, I really love nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet new people! I took a gap year before I came to college; during that year, I volunteered in an NGO to do youth outreach and went to China to teach environmental education. I met people from different countries for the first time and have learned so much from them! I hope to continue meeting people with diverse interests and strike a conversation about philosophy, traveling, and family!

Love reading, music, and outdoor activities. I love to try something new, whether it's something crafty, or a new book genre, etc. I tried baking bread once and got the proportions wrong--but that's still on my list!

Music, Movies, and Books

Okay, this is where the music nerd side of me comes out: I love instrumental music. That's probably my all-time favorite, although I do listen to pop and country pop( real country is too good for me to handle). I really enjoy impressionistic music and have mixed feelings about new music.

My favorite movies include Black Swan, and The Matrix, and I have increasingly taken a liking on romantic comedies (but I still hate too cheesy ones)!

I try to read widely. I have gradually moved toward reading more non-fiction than fiction, because there's so much about the real world that I don't know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing.....probably my music tutor volunteer work at a music academy that takes in adult students with learning disabilities. It's been fulfilling to watch them learn and manifest their passion in a fearless way, when performing. It's something that I find inspiring and hope to translate that pure passion and fearlessness into my own piano performance!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you more about Malaysian culture, teach you some Mandarin and Malay, and maybe even basic Hokkien and Cantonese(I'm not fantastic in them). I love learning about different cultures and also eating different types of cuisines! I can be chatty and also quiet, depending on the company and also how rested I feel. I relish those moments to be alone a lot, but a good company could always spice things up. If you'd like to talk with me, I am glad to hop on this train of talk and thoughts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can promise that I am a good guest who would accommodate your living habits, keep clean, and give you the respect and privacy that you need. But more than anything, if time allows, we could also just cook together, watch movies, take photos, and just plainly ponder on life and philosophy.
