About Me

I'm a very outgoing chill person. i enjoy being out in the outdoors. i enjoy social gatherings. also if i can i like to turn up on the weekends but before that happens i make sure all my duties are fulfilled. I'm a responsible person. I like to clean up around the house and especially if someone welcomes me to their home. I grew up struggling as my family wished for a better life in the Unites States. My parents are from Mexico so I am a first generation Mexican American. If you have ever seen such films such as American Me, Blood in Blood out, Boulevard Nights, i come from that culture. i would consider myself the under-dogs of la that people from around the world don't get to experience because where i come from we are not as privileged as the typical Americans you probably met. I work for a wonderful organization based in Los Angeles called Homeboy Industries. They help out men and women who have lives the street life who are trying to better themselves. As i bettered my life, the organization head staff noticed i was doing what i had to do. i graduated my high school and started going to college. they seeked fundraisers from humble people which allowed me to study abroad here in the UK. I would have the honor to share the LA culture. Im book smart and street smart also if that helps. I still live with my family but as soon as I have my life ready i will own a home that I too, can host. I would love to show you around LA one day as i know most of the breath taking views. I even take my own LA friends out there and even they tell me how did i discover this view. im just being honest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I always dreamed of traveling my whole life, and now I have the opportunity. Coming from my background, growing up in poverty but trying to have a better life, these trips aren't "supposed to happen". I have met many great people and Homeboys Industries has helped me along the way to make my study abroad trip possible. I have the opportunity to come to Europe. Right now i'm currently studying abroad at Oxford, UK. I would like experience My spring break is from March 17 to the 27. I have booked two flights. The first one is to Amsterdam. I'm going to be in Amsterdam from the 17 of March till the 24. After that i'm going to paris till the 27. i would also need a host out there. I am couchsurfing to save money because honestly i'm not rich but most importantly to actually to feel the real lifestyle of the native of which land im visitng and to be able to be have friends around the world . But hey i'll buy you a drink. Also a major reason share cultural experiences.

Interests

I do like to party, IM FROM LA! We party hard AF! i love to draw. I'm really into sight seeing such as going to views or sneaking my way into some of the downtown LA buildings to get to the rooftop to take pictures. LA is not like NYC or a city with major skyscrapers that allow public access to the roof even with a charge. You would have to book a very expensive hotel just to get to the top or unless at a rooftop bar. I'm 19, legal drinking age in California is 21 :( Im a daredevil. I'm not afraid to get lost because you learn from the experiences. i really can;t stand boring, non-social people because you only have one life and we have to make the best of it. I love to drive and enjoy the sceneries. Bike rides are awesome as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the new-school hip hop/rap, old school hip hop/rap, classic rock, oldies, but i would enjoy to listen to different music around the world which i am not fully familiar with.
for movies, genres such as horror, comedies, mystery, some documentaries.
Books: A Child Called It, A Piece of Cake: A Memoir, Tweak, Always Running ( this book is literally a history book of the part of LA County where i grew up in)
I'm really into autobiographies where people struggle but yet they make it out and become somebody.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had to the privilege to meet the queen of Sweden, Queen Silvia. I had to the honor to accept the flowers she gave me.

Hiked an entire day at Yosemite National Park.
