About Me
ABOUT ME
I would say that I am quite an easy-going person. Having a small dose of sarcasm helps in leading a healthy life I guess. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I follow the libertarianism doctrine. It's best expressed with the sentence "You're allowed to do anything you wish as long as it doesn't concern me". Therefore, every person should be free minding his own business, having the most of his individual freedom. This applies to economics, where taxation should be as low as possible.
Concerning philosophy alone, the main precursor of this movement is John Locke.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to get acquainted with the local culture, meeting new friends with that.
Had one experience with couchsurfing in Liverpool. Trying it for the rest of the cities right now :)
Interests
Mainly new technologies and video games, though I can speak about any topic! I may be just a little shy at the start if nothing comes up from me :)
I used to study Computer Science, now going to study Games Design. Also, a fan of Economics. If you have any question concerning these subjects, give me your best shot!
I am also a fan of the craft beer, trying to populate the beer revolution in Poland. If you have any special pubs in your place that are worth visiting, then just give me an invite :P

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - http://www.last.fm/user/vanmerx
In general I listen to everything, but I mostly like to listen to electronic music.
Movies - http://www.filmweb.pl/user/VanmerX
If you don't want to mess around with Polish, in general the genres I like the most are sci-fi, gangster and psychological. If I had to choose three most favourite films, it would be Matrix, the Big Lebowski and Scarface.
Books - It really depends. Sadly, I can never find enough time for books, therefore I have a large list of books that is still waiting for me to read. One of the most recent books that got me really addicted to it was the Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Made an hour mix of "Arab techno" on Youtube, haha. Seriously though, I believe the most amazing thing I have done was having a trip lasting two weeks in the mountains (Bieszczady), without any communication with the outside world except for the shelters. It was truly great for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can always bring something straight from Poland, but concerning the population of Poles in the UK, it may already be in the local polish shop ;)
