I come from Slovakia, the small land of beautiful mountains, fresh and green meadows and old, enchanting castles from walls of which you can hear songs of the glorious past echoing in the wind. I love history, art, nature and animals. Even living so far, I carry native american culture in my heart and I adore and admire them for who they were and are. As a passionate admirer of Lakota people, I have decided to visit their land in South Dakota while being on the trip through the USA to fulfil the biggest dream of my life - to meet these people in person :)) I believe, we are all related and that there is good inside of each human. Thats why I love the Lakota prayer, Mitakuye Oyasin, which is expressing it all in just two words :)))
I havent hosted anyone through couchsurfing yet, but I hosted one very kind person from Rio de Janeiro and later also his friends from Croatia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it seems to be an AMAZINGLY great opportunity to help and meet people from all corners of the world, wanderers who seek for place to stay at completely strange,yet welcoming country they have decided to get to know, without getting financially ruined. Traveling is awesome, but also expensive if you do not try to search for alternative ways of spending it in both interestingly enriching and cheap manner. Couchsurfing offers not only this but also a chance of getting a new friend :) + of course, I would love to travel and get to know other people and places through it :))

Interests

I love native american cultures and Im trying to get to know as much as I can about them - especially about Lakota Oyate, who have stolen my heart since I dont even remember when :), I love spending my time in nature, mountains and on tours. Among my other interests belong reading, painting, writing ( Im working on a book and series of poems :)) ) as well as listening to the metal/rock music, dancing salsa and playing the guitar. I suppose Im just a simple, crazy artist :P

My favourite band is ( well there is a lot of them so Im trying to figure out quickly, which I prefer :P ) ....... lets say Sonata Arctica .. or Ensiferum, Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Stratovarius, Helloween Juan Luis Guerra, Marc Anthony, Kelly Family etc. x))
My most favourite books are biography of Lame Deer, Black Elk speaks, My people the Sioux or Red Cloud´s Folk.
And my favourite movies are Bury my heart at Wounded Knee, Smoke signals, The Dreamkeeper and Dancing with the Wolves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Im teaching at High veterinary school and I still plan to teach in the future. I guess thats it. The future generations need a guidance and attention (or just a crazy adult friend) :)))

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, as first I ll share my apt and few days with you :P As I am a history teacher, I can tell you about history of (not only) Slovakia ( I promise I ll not bore you to the death :P ), I can show you some amazing places ( and my favourite ones ) here in Košice, as well as in Slovakia. I can cook and bake so I will be happy to introduce you our national dishes :)) or teach you our folk dance. I also want to learn about you and your culture :)
