Overview
About Me
Just an average girl with high aspirations and low motivation.
Very typically millennial, I believe that there is more to life than just working for money. I absolutely hate being just a cog in a capitalist and corrupt machine, and I definitely abhor the eternal excuses "because that's just how things are and have always been" and "if you can't beat them, join them."
I haven't seen a psychiatrist yet, (I will once I have the money) but I think I have social anxiety and experience bouts of depression. What I'm certain of is that I'm almost extremely introverted and shy. It takes me a while to build the courage just to make a phone call to customer service or to order food.
I am weird. I sometimes laugh at the smallest of things and have out-of-this-world or unusual thoughts and ideas. My moral compass is kind of wonky, but I try to stay on the right side if I could.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The world has so many wonderful things to offer, and life's too short, so I want to see as much of it as I could. Unfortunately, I am currently financially constrained. So I'm looking for cheap ways to travel, and I think free lodging can definitely help augment expenses.
Of course I'm also here for the friends I may make while wandering about, that is if you're okay with my weirdness. :)
Interests
Food. Definitely. Particularly desserts :)
I'm interested in a range of stuff, but mostly American and British pop culture. Aside from SciFi and Fantasy, I gravitate towards crime and thrillers. Some American series I used to watch were NCIS, CSI: Miami, and Bones. I'm meaning to catch up to them, I just haven't found the time (and means of watching) yet. Right now, stateside series I'm watching are Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and Jessica Jones. I want to watch Once Upon A Time , American Horror Story, Big Bang Theory, Jane The Virgin, ang Girls, but I'm having the same problem with these series as with those I used to watch.
British series I'm following are Sherlock, Vicious, and Doctor Who. All I've seen of Doctor Who are from NuWho, but if I can find copies, I'd definitely watch Classic Who too.
A series I like that's both American and British is Humans. It's set in Britain but it's in co-production with AMC.
Strange interests of mine are philosophizing and thinking about spiritual things. I haven't read much about philosophers and their works, except those required reading for school which I didn't finish and/or didn't understand, but I sometimes catch myself thinking about things beyond this plane of existence.

Music, Movies, and Books
Before they disbanded, my favorite band was My Chemical Romance. Now it's Muse; naturally since they were my second favorite band. I'm more into rock and its derivatives like pop rock, punk, pop punk, and alternative. I think I like all genres of music except for rap and hip hop. There are some rap and hip hop music I like, but I find those that are about sex and objectifying women to be tasteless.
Like my tastes in music, I'm also attracted to a lot of different kinds of movies, though I'm not fond of chick-flicks, romance, and coming of age movies. One of my favorites is The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009). I also like Iron Man (2008) and The Pirates of the Caribbean a lot. The movie I absolutely adore and would never tire of is Edward Scissorhands (1990), as well as Studio Ghibli films.
Like most kids my age, I guess, I love the Harry Potter series, but when I was young, my heart belonged to White Fang. I also like Dan Brown's works despite the controversy. Right now, I'm into George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire (I already gave up on the series because of all the changes they made). Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes is very high up on my favorites list as well. It's sad to admit, but I haven't read a lot of books, but I'm endeavoring to read all the classics within my lifetime.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For my first out of the country trip, I went to Japan on my own without knowing much Japanese. I survived the trip with lots of help from Google :)
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're coming over to the Philippines, I can teach you some basic Tagalog words and phrases. I can also teach you how to get around if I'm familiar enough with the area. I'd love to learn the history, language, and culture in your country of origin. I hope we can share stories and points-of-view regarding national and global issues :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Being tight on budget, maybe I can share stories and activities? Maybe I can also share delicacies from my home country. I'm sorry if that's all I can share :/
