About Me
I am an ever curious mind always looking for a new perspective.
Personally, I am a white CIS hetero female (she/her) from Germany who loves learning different languages, living at different places, discovering their culture by talking to the locals and eating the (vegetarian) local cuisine. I enjoy spending time with others and am fairly talkative and I would also say easy to talk to (I have heard of listening xD), but I can also spend time with myself discovering new places or just reading a book, so hosts need not worry they need to entertain me .
My love for different perspectives defenitely extends to my professional life and led to extensive studying (I now have a strong background in linguistics, psychology, human-machine interaction (so, e.g. UX) and am currently writing my thesis at SGH Warsaw in a management related field).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Let's state the obvious: I like to discover new places.
Even more than travelling for a short amount of time (a matter of days or weeks), I like to move around and live in different places - I would say a minimum stay of 6 months is how I enjoy to get to know a new place.
Either way, whether vacation stay or new home, when I get somewhere new, I much prefer to get a locals view on the places I visit, so I am always looking to emerge as much as possible with locals rather than with the local ex-pat community ;-)
Interests
TRAVEL: I try to go somewhere new a lot, my focus and latest travel destinations are different places in Europe (Praha, Budapest, Tromsø, Paris, Roma, Wien, Berlin, Leipzig, Lyon, Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Granada, Warszawa, Kraków, Wrocław are some of the 'bigger' cities I've been to), although I spent a year in Australia and went to both the US and Kuba once as well.
FOOD: but not so much cooking, as EATING ;) but if you cook, I will gratefully help in any way and do the dishes :-p I must admit, I am sometimes sceptic with unknown dishes, but I really want to try a lot and most of the time, it's very rewarding. I am a vegetarian though, so in some countries I might not have tried the most renown dishes...
CONCERTS: I especially enjoy small concerts in smaller clubs. I have also been to a few festivals and do enjoy the whole experience a lot, but I feel the more direct way for me to soak in all the music (and not so much the surroundings, people, food etc. I enjoy about festivals) is in a more intimate set-up
