Overview
About Me
I'm a 19-year-old girl from Denmark who loves travelling and meeting new people! I consider myself a pretty open-minded person who get along well with most people. I'm half Danish, half Romanian, and my father and his part of the family currently live in Spain, so travelling and learning languages as well as learning and experiencing new cultures has been pretty natural and necessary for me the past few years. Starting From September I am going to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Social Education in Denmark and with that I am really hoping to be able to travel the world, working with people and their interrelationships, problems and cultures... :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet new and exciting people, and exchange cultural experiences, views of the world and so on. I believe travelling is both a way to get to know the world, but also a way to get to know yourself, and therefore I would love to share such an experience with a native instead of staying in a hotel.
Just recently, I went hitchhiking around Europe for the first time with a friend. It was an amazing experience. We did not really have a plan when we took off, but we made it all the way by sleeping at people's places in various cities through CS. It was my first experience with both CS and hitchhiking as well as visiting the Netherlands and Belgium, and we were always met with incredible kindness and generousity, so it is defiantly something I would do again!
Interests
I like to draw and express myself creatively, as well as experiencing arts and culture. I would also consider meeting people and cultures as well as learning languages a great interest of mine. I also really enjoy the joy, silence and peace of nature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Spring 2013, when I was 16 years old, I went to Andalucia, Spain to meet my father and brothers for the first time ever. At that time, I had really no experience with travelling, so everything was extremely new for me. My father and I met at a parking lot outside Aldi in Spain, and we had lunch together afterwards. At some point, he asked me if I wanted to meet the rest of my family. I must admit I was a bit hersitant at first, because I just met this man who was apparantly my father, and there would be a 250-300 km drive to his place. Also, we did not really know how to speak the same languages - he primarily speaks Spanish and Romanian, while I am fluent in Danish and English. But I did it anyway and it was an amazing experience! I learned that I have an amazingly big, warm and openminded family, and even though we could not always communicate verbally, we made it work with sign language and so on, and now I visit them as regularly as I can while I have been learning Spanish in school ever since. I believe this experience is what REALLY sparked my interest for discovering the world, exchanging cultural experiences and so on.
